| So the wedding pictures that we've been waiting on finally arrived! You can go check them out at:
www.flickr.com/photos/cmvinson
You may need to create a flickr account to look at them, but it's free and it may end up being a place you'd like to post your own photos. The editing tools are really great.
Hooray!

Alright. So I'm back. I'm married . I'm in Florida. All of these things serve as good fodder for xanga-ing.
The wedding went very well. A couple key people were late, resulting in everything else being late, resulting in Craig and I possibly slighting many of the people who were at the reception (if that was you, I am SO sorry. Thank you for coming to our wedding and we're both pretty bummed that the pictures took so long). But all of the things that were worries worked out in the end, the ceremony went wonderfully, the food was good, the one small piece of cake that Craig did NOT shove into my mouth (thanks, dear) tasted good, and people seemed to be generally happy.
We had a great time on our honeymoon.......we went to Disney World!!! It was really a great place to spend a week with my favorite person. We had plenty of time to go to all the parks (several times for some of them), had a great time being super efficient and riding all of the rides we wanted to (several times for some of them), and decided that actually, our favorite park was not the Magic Kingdom, but indeed was MGM. We're movie people, what can I say? We did not get to ride Aerosmith's Rockin' Rollercoaster, however (boo), so we decided to upgrade to season passes! (solely for that reason.....yeah right) Really, though, we got a great deal on upgrading the tickets that we already had, so we just couldn't pass it up. Plus it was only 4 hours away and it's a great half-way point for our bestest buds in Ft. Myers, the Olsons! They got to come up on the last day of our trip and hang out with us. It was really great and I got really sad when they had to leave us. But then we rode splash mountain, and after almost throwing up with anxiety on the way up to the top of the mountain, Craig and I got the best "ride-picture" on the planet, so it jolted me back out of my sadness (the picture will hopefully be forthcoming. it was AWEsome). Sunday was basically a day of rest before we got back to real life.......which started on Monday.
I have a lot of crap. So it took us the morning and good part of the early afternoon getting it from the shipping place to our apartment. And so, we have a spare bedroom that is filled near to capacity with boxes and tubs. But Tuesday, I got all of the basic paperwork done needed to move and change names: driver's license, s.s. card, new plates, insurance, you know the drill. And so, the rest of our week (so far) has been filled with cleaning up (somewhat) in the apartment, finding furniture (a RED couch and loveseat, how does that not beat all?) and a washer/dryer, and shopping for food. We've done well and tonight is the Office (random plug), so the next thing on the docket is finding me a job! I have one contact that I have to.....contact.....today. And that should be good. Other than that, it may be rounding up nugs at Chick-fil-A....not a bad second choice....but definitely NOT a first choice. Anyways, God will provide, we'll be great, and by the time you're ready to come visit us, we will have a bedroom NOT full of boxes for you to stay in (yes, an open invitation to our friends)!
Good enough? I thought so.
love.

So. Again. Lots of time in between.
Sometimes, things just happen too fast to sit down and recount them. But, I wanted to take the time to write, probably my last time, before becoming one of the married people. Exciting. Hectic. Fast. Super cool.
I'm almost done here at the church. Kinda sad. Especially since we don't have a pastor yet. I wanted to be a part of welcoming him and his family here. Of helping him get acclimated with FBC and Monroe County. Of showing him how excited we are to have him and etc. So it looks like I won't be in on that. I guess I just wanted to know who my family was talking about whenever they referred to him in the future. oh well. c'est la vie.
They will be in the same boat as I, however, about our life in Florida. Please pray that I find a job. I don't want to work at McDonald's, but I will if I have to. I'd just rather work at a church. I've had to do those dumb, not-what-you-want-to-do jobs....and I've been spoiled by being able to do what I actually wanted to do while in college. So. Final word: pray for a church job of some kind for me.
I think I'm going to go without discussing wedding details. Everyone asks about them. Why don't you just come and you can see? It'll be sweet! So, I'll tell you more about it after the fact (for those of you who aren't coming....bums. ;). Right now, I'm working hard and doing last minute things. That should be enough.
Pineapples are still good. Even if you haven't eaten them for a long time.

Goly, literally a month between posts. Oh well. Life goes fast and sometimes, xanga takes too long.
Or sometimes, not enough is interesting for posting.
Currently, I am ill. I came back from sunny Florida on Tuesday and hit the Ohio sinus swamp, and now I just feel like poo. blah. But that means I get an excuse for not putting in contacts and wearing grungy clothes. Take that, propriety!
So, you ask, Florida? What happened to VBS? Yes, indeed, I've completed two trips in this month, which means two weeks out of the four. VBS went really well. I had this fear that I would not be received well by kids that did not know me. I mean, the kids at my church like me because they see me all the time and I hang out with them. But the kids at PT's church? Never seen them in my life. But, God is good, He's given me gifts, and when I use them for Him, good things happen. They had record numbers and many salvations. I got to indirectly present the gospel to a Muslim woman. Talk about adrenaline flowing after that! And, even though I didn't get to stay for Family Night and the culmination of all my efforts, I had many good reports. Which, really, it was probably best I didn't stay. Pride is a continual battle, and I can say that I would have struggled. So. VBS, number 2, check.
On to Florida. I got to leave last Tuesday and go visit my main man in the very sunny, very HOT Ft. Myers. We watched much James Bond, as well as Arrested Development, Season 1. For those who have never seen it, I definitely recomend! Hilarious. We took a day trip to Sannibel Island.....saw a raccoon and no alligators. We're such nerds, though....1 day at the beach, and by "at the beach," I mean we walked out onto the beach, took some pictures, stood in the water, then decided it was too hot and went back to the car! ha. It really was incredibly hot, though. So our water experiences involved a shaded pool and our greatest times were cooking food for each other. It really was a blast, very relaxing, and very needed. Craig is still in the interview process, so keep praying for this job that he's heading toward. It's exciting, but we're still waiting. I'm proud of him, though. He's got everyone loving him and recommending him down there (I knew he would, but still) and his boss told me over and over how great of a job he's doing in his internship.
We're plugging away right now towards our church's 50th Anniversary Celebration. That includes much building maintenance, promotional activities and printings, special service organizing, and what have you. Later today, I have to help tear down shelves in the church office. Shelves that have not seen organization since the 1970s.....so. There you have it.
And we're working on wedding stuff as well! Invitations are almost ready to be ordered and printed. Hopefully, I'll finish that tonight (If Suzanne reads this, we must talk! ha). Caterer, check. Photographer, check. Cake, check. Dresses, check. Decorations, check. Church, check (hallelujah!). Still working on: invitations, florist, rings, service orders.......as far as what comes to mind. ha. So we're on a roll, finally!
OK.....lunch time. And then work. Because I took another vacation to Florida, I have to work on Saturday this week. How quaint. So. Time to go. Maybe Subway today? hhm.....sweet onion chicken teriyaki, here I come!

oh safari....how you be so pretty?
So I haven't updated since before my classes started. Yes, that is for a reason. I have become a somewhat diligent student, declining invitations for fun and frivolity in order to pursue higher education. I missed Suzanne's awesome cookoout...I missed Denver's hogroast, which included Jordan and some of her Marietta friends. But I am learning about the New Testament. And I am learning somewhat about Theology. I learned from my former pastor that I should have only taken 1 class at a time...which I was wondering if that was kosher, and am very excited to find that yes, indeed, it is. Because I don't know if I can handle this two at once deal. Hopefully I don't fail one or the other.
My research topic for Theology is Theories of the Rapture. Sound exciting? I think so.
I just got back yesterday from Tennessee. We spent a week in the Smoky Mountains, doing much shopping, "visiting", and eating. I have been working on discipline, so thankfully I did not make myself hurt by eating too much food more than twice. Vacation usually = gluttony. However, I have done much better. After all, I have three more months until the wedding and that dress is well-fitted, if you catch me.
I leave on Friday for Game Day Central, Round Two (fight!). Said former pastor (i.e., Travis) asked me months and months ago (at the Evangelism Celebration at CU, no doubt) if I would come this summer and help him out (lots of parenthesis!!!)()(). So my dear sweet friend Lacey and I are going to leave some time Friday, depending on how much work I get done today and tomorrow. Hopefully, I can meet up with some of my Urbancrestians while in big Cinci. I sure hope so. I do miss them so. I have another dear friend in Cinci who reads these postings (sometimes). She should give me a buzz and we should make fun times sometime! Only problem is that I'll be occupied in the evenings and people work during the day, so we'll have to see. Anyways. I have to review my motions, however. Although, if I do say so and others have attested as well, I have an almost encyclopedic memory of all things Lifeway VBS. "Climbing Mt. Extreme"? I remember it. "Fantastic Good News Ocean Odyssey"? I was there. "Truth Trackers and the Secret of the Stone Tablets"? I OWNED that one. I could go on. Some are already shaking their heads, though. So I shall stop. (Star Quest, Mt Extreme, Ocean Odyssey, Truth Trackers, Amazon Outfitters, Kingdom Kaper, Rickshaw Ralley, Ramblin' Roadtrip, Arctic Edge, Game Day Central, BOO YA! I couldn't help myself)
So. I'm waiting on food to come, trying to motivate myself into all of the things that must get done, thinking about how much is left to do with EVERYthing this summer, not just work....oh sigh. I signed up for it, though. You all know how I like to stay busy. Anyways. I'm going to go and stand at the window waiting for food. And then I'm going to eat it!
good night and good luck.
